Do Not Grow Weary or Lose Heart

Do Not Grow Weary or Lose Heart

We all go through it at some time in our life.  For some of us, it happens more often than we'd prefer.

At a recent church event, I stood in front of a crowd of  women and shared my testimony.  My husband and I have been through an awful lot of trials over the past 13 or so years.  I knew it was a lot, but it wasn't until I stood there painting a picture of all of that emotion that it hit me just how much suffering we were, for whatever reason, chosen to endure.

In the midst of each trial, I know I struggled.  I know I spent a lot of time focusing on our problems and all of the what-ifs rushing through my fear-filled mind.

What I'm bothered by now as I'm looking back, is even though I knew in my heart God would protect us, provide for us, show us His miracles, and give us victory, I still spent far too much time meditating on my fears.

Instead, I should have been looking up at the One who gives strength and peace.

Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.  ~ Hebrews 12:3

Are you growing weary and losing heart?

I don't know the specifics of what you're facing today.  But I do know the reason you're still reading this is because you can relate...because you are going through something that has your stomach in knots.

Friend, I can only say this and I know you've heard the words before - this too shall pass.

This too shall pass!

It will!  I promise you!

God is so good.  Will you trust Him?  Will you take a moment and hand your fears over to God?

Think about God for a minute.  His power!

Think about the fact that He created day and night...

  • the stars in the sky,
  • the sun and the moon,
  • the ground you walk on,
  • the oceans and the rivers,
  • the clouds in the sky,
  • the snow and rain,
  • the birds singing in the trees,
  • the air you breathe,
  • the tears that fall down your cheek,
  • the heart inside of you beating in perfect rhythm,
  • the smell of your sweet newborn baby's skin,
  • the sound of the words 'I love you',
  • the emotion you feel when your child snuggles close in your arms,
  • the very child you care for so deeply,

...and so so much more.

These things God created, they are all miracles!

Our God is a God of miracles, a God of healing, a God of mercy and grace, a God of forgiveness, a God of provision and blessings.

He is the Author of your life.  He created you!  He will not let you fall unless He knows that's what's necessary for you to turn and look at Him.  Don't meditate on your problems and your fears.  That's exactly what the devil wants you to do.

Look to God.

I know you're weary, but don't lose heart.  Your victory is near!

Do you not know?  Have you not heard?  The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.  He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom.  He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.  Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.  ~ Isaiah 40:28-31
