Interviewee Needed for National Story on Unemployment

Published on April 19, 2012 by Rosann

Have you heard of journalist, Katherine Lewis?   She's full of awesomeness as she's published articles for the Chicago Tribune, New York Times, Washington Post, and MSN Money to name just a few.   Well, her research assistant contacted me yesterday regarding an opportunity that I don't quite fit the bill for, but perhaps you or someone you know does.

Here's what they're looking for:

I am doing research for a story about national unemployment, and I am looking for a person to interview who has been unemployed for at least a year and is finally starting a full-time job mid-May.

The interviewee must:

- be comfortable talking on the record (being quoted by first and last name and geographic location) and discussing financial details of their situation.

- be available for interviews in the next three weeks.

If this is something you would be interested in, please send me an email {[email protected]} with a brief description of your circumstances so I can forward your information on to Katherine's research assistant.

Blessings to you and yours,

Sounds like a nice opportunity. :) Not unemployed here, so I don't apply.

Shared on facebook. Sadly, I know lots and lots of unemployed people. Don't know who has recently found a new job. Praying for my friends as I post this!

Thank you Karen. I know quite a few people who've been there very recently but thankfully are back to work now. I'll say a special prayer for the many friends you know who are still struggling with these tough economic times.

      Blessings,

It would be interesting to hear from someone on how unemployment has affected their life.

    • Rosann

Regina, there are so many going through it right now. It's just sad. My husband and I were affected by it for a very long 3yrs and he only recently got hired on right after I published my book about our journey and ways to cope. I have a huge heart for those who are struggling through it though. It's so hard and such an emotionally devastating experience for families to endure.

I'm not in the U.S. so unfortunately, I can't help here. So sad.
