When Finding Inner Peace Seems Too Far Fetched

It’s easy to become discouraged with life.

Everywhere we look, people are out of work, losing their homes, having financial difficulties, suffering depression, or are walking around with an endless grumpiness plastered across their face.  Maybe you're one of those people.

I struggle to watch the news anymore because the stories are so often horrifying.  Is this really what our world has become?

A world filled with judgement and hate?  Movie theater shootings?  Domestic violence?  Terrorist attacks?  Freedom of speech arguments over gay marriage?

How can anyone experience a sense of peace when our world is in such a state of dismay?

Friends, if you’re a believer, the Holy Spirit is inside of you and will grant you peace when you pray over it and spend time in the word of God.

When you ask in heartfelt prayer, the Holy Spirit will provide peace from a multitude of discouraging emotions and situations.

  • Peace from depression
  • Peace from fear
  • Peace from anxiety
  • Peace from resentment
  • Peace from doubt
  • Peace from spiritual warfare
  • Peace from your circumstances

Note that having peace does not always equate to having our problems solved.  Resolution to life's struggles only comes in God's perfect timing and according to His plan.

Our world sees peace as the absence of conflict.

But the peace that comes from Christ, through the Holy Spirit, is one of confidence, assurance, and joy.   Regardless of any circumstance we face.

There’s no need to fear.

There’s no need to be discouraged.

Stop worrying about your circumstances.

Pray, dear one.  Don’t just say you will.  Actually do it.

Pray!

Leave your concerns with God.  The God who is bigger than anything you’re facing.  He loves you and He wants you to have peace.

Wipe those tears and go live life with a peace that surpasses all understanding.

Prayer has become my lifeline. I have taken many of your suggestions, including a basket with handles always close by with my treasured Bible and devotional books. Has helped me tremendously.

    God bless you, friend.

Jasmine, thank you for the sweet comment. The basket can be a great tool for our time with God. My problem lately? I'm cramming too much into my basket. Just like in life...lol! I either need a bigger basket or I need to take some of the resources I feel I MUST have in there, out. The only thing I really need is God and His word. He is sufficient.

I can say this has happened to me. A few years back within a 6 month period I broke my neck, my wife had an affair with my best friend and a new business of mine went bankrupt and even in the middle of all that God somehow was able to show me what "peace that passes all understanding" actually means... only He can pull off something like that. Thanks for the great post.
